Body control is of parti-cular importance in the Quickstep because without enough of it this quicksilver-like dance can easily develop into something that could be more closely associated with St. Vitus than with the ballroom. The Quickstep is usually the last dance to be performed at a competition comprising of the four standard dances, Waltz, Slow Foxtrot, Tango and Quickstep, and it is really exciting to watch the elegant couples fling all their ability into this dance and, to the encouraging applause of the spectators, bring the contest to a thrilling climax.
